Case series / L–01 & L–02
Does the route count?
The same three letters can sit on a paying line or across an excluded diagonal. First locate the route; only then apply the award.

One qualifying line · no feature
01 / stated

A, B = letter symbols; · = blank symbol. The underline indicates the tested top row, not a third active line.
03 / test
Only the top qualifies
Top: A A A, left to right, on an active line. Middle: B · A, no listed three-of-a-kind. There are no S symbols, so no feature trigger.
04 / outcomeQualifies
5 credits per line-credit × 2 credits on the top line = 10 credits = AUD $0.10 gross prize.
Total stake is 2 lines × 2 credits × $0.01 = $0.04; net difference is +$0.06. The line award was not multiplied by the whole stake.
L–02 / A across a diagonal
No qualifying line · no feature
01 / stated
Under the same L rule sheet, only the top and middle horizontal rows are active. A diagonal crossing top, middle and bottom is not an eligible line.
02 / arrangement

A and B are letter symbols. Marked cells run diagonally from top left to bottom right; this is not an active route.
03 / test
Count only active rows
Top: A B B. Middle: B A B. Neither has three A or three B. The diagonal A A A does not qualify; the bottom row is not active. No S occurs.
04 / outcomeNo listed win
Gross prize: 0 credits = AUD $0.00. Total stake: 4 credits = $0.04. Net difference: −$0.04.
Three matching letters anywhere is not the eligibility test in L.
Conceptual route checkThese blank pieces evoke close examination, not an eligible line or payout evidence. The two selectable arrangements and tests above determine the invented outcomes.
